The thing that is so amazing about the success of this gorgeous tune was it was used ONLY briefly within a minor scene in the film, where Carol Baker as Harlow, is modeling. It then went on to become such an incredibly famous musical standard! Love it, and think Mr. Hefti was the greatest!
I remember listening to this on my transistor radio. I would listen to the old Johnny Magnus radio program on KMPC Los Angeles and he would really play Neal Hefti.
I have to add this. Some have covered this song like Billy May trying to play it exactly the way this original is but the suttle nuances of Neal's arrangement and chord changes are the best any one could hope for. It is simply one of Hefti's best.
