Number's like this elevated Hefti into the stratosphere, not that he wasn't there before.

The thing that is so amazing about the success of this gorgeous tune was it was used ONLY briefly within a minor scene in the film, where Carol Baker as Harlow, is modeling. It then went on to become such an incredibly famous musical standard! Love it, and think Mr. Hefti was the greatest!

This is one of the great Hefti tunes. It actually made the top 40 in 1965.

I remember listening to this on my transistor radio. I would listen to the old Johnny Magnus radio program on KMPC Los Angeles and he would really play Neal Hefti.

With pieces like this he had the better of Mancini, just. The odd couple was another Hefti masterpiece.

I have to add this. Some have covered this song like Billy May trying to play it exactly the way this original is but the suttle nuances of Neal's arrangement and chord changes are the best any one could hope for. It is simply one of Hefti's best.
