I loved you with all my heart, come a little bit closer, come a little bit closer
because i m still in love with you
I loved you with all my heart, we know where the music s playin
But there s a full moon risin, on this harvest moon
Just like children sleepin, i loved you with all my heart
But there s a full moon risin, when we were strangers
but now it s gettin late
When we were strangers, we could dream this night away Neil, when we were lovers
Because i m still in love with you, i watched you from afar, come a little bit closer
I want to see you dance again, see it shinin in your eye
on this harvest moon
Just like children sleepin, but there s a full moon risin
Because i m still in love with you, because i m still in love with you, let s go out and feel the night
Let s go out and feel the night, i watched you from afar
see it shinin in your eye
i want to see you dance again
we know where the music s playin
But there s a full moon risin, because i m still in love with you
Because i m still in love with you, i watched you from afar Neil, because i m still in love with you
On this harvest moon, let s go out and feel the night, but now it s gettin late
Hear what i have to say, when we were strangers
on this harvest moon
I want to celebrate, on this harvest moon, let s go out and feel the night
On this harvest moon, and the moon is climbin high Harvest, but now it s gettin late
but now it s gettin late
Let s go out and feel the night, hear what i have to say
Because i m still in love with you, but there s a full moon risin, i want to celebrate
On this harvest moon, when we were strangers, and the moon is climbin high
This song makes a man's eyes water after experiencing love that's been discovered or lost, either way those moments should be cherished. This song doesnt even feel like 5 minutes.
Caretaking for my father full time for almost 8 months now since hes been diagnosed with brain cancer. Now with covid it is even more lonely and music is getting me by. Going through my shazam library I remembered this song (yeah..I had to shazam it, guilty) This song has been on repeat now. Encapsulating the mood...tears non stop. His girlfriend (still in the picture) took care of him for 5 months before I stepped in. They loved dancing together. I wish I could see them dance again.
I wish everyone my age would just open their eyes and realize the good things that Neil's music can do for a soul. He surely saved mine. I was honestly contemplating suicide but I found Neil's live performance at BBC in 1971 and I cried during Old Man. It reminded me of my dad and my grandma, what they told me when I was a kid and then at that very moment I hit me, what I need to do. The days past by and I got a hold of a cheap fender electric guitar without an amp, (I just played it like an acoustic) so I went ahead and learned the basic chords and I learned Heart Of Gold. After I taught myself how to play I got good and I discovered a passion that I never knew was there. Here I am three years later at the age of 19 doing things I used to dream of.. I play three times a week and two different pubs here in town and I got the courage to get myself back into acting and modeling. I'm honestly so proud that I've made it this far. Thank you Neil Young.. You've saved my life, you turned it around, and you made me a better person.️
Not that anyone cares but I’m dealing with depression and anxiety. This song calms me down, gives me hope that maybe I’ll find someone who I can slow dance with! This was my top song on my Spotify because it’s so damn soothing. :relaxed:️
I lost my wife 20 years ago to cancer, the kids were still very young and without them I couldnt of made it.I was then and still so so in love with my wife but I had a job to do here and Im still not done.Want to see my daughters get married and my 3 grandbabies graduate. Then it will be my time to be with my love. Ive told them to play this song at my funeral and to look to the heavens and know Im dancing with my love again and finally at peace.
Sitting here listening to music. My 15yr old son is playing a game on the PS4. I hear him say into his headset to his online buddies "harvest moon". I ask him why he said that. He said his friends asked what the song was I'm listening too. I asked how he knew that was the name of the song. My son says too me "because it's good!" He then said his friends liked the way it sounded. My proud father moment. I knew my boy had excellent taste in music. :smirk:
