The idle mind is a playground for the devil, but to meet the man with the ghetto voice
i m movin up
Do you wanna, do you wanna
her flame was burning just for me
do you wanna
To see how funky she could be, the lady smiled at me, do you wanna
Do you wanna get funky do you wanna get funky, when she looked in my eyes and slowly said Wanna, do you wanna get funky with me
The way she smiled at me, the idle mind is a playground for the devil, the lady smiled at me
Do you wanna get funky with me, do you wanna get funky do you wanna get funky Do, i m movin up
Her vader tempted me, i d love to reach it for my soul, the idle mind is a playground for the devil
i can t believe we ve in
Her flame was burning just for me, i m movin up
Do you wanna, do you wanna
Her vader tempted me, when she would take my eyes
Cause it s hot, it was plain to see Me, but to meet the man with the ghetto voice
Cause it s hot, do you wanna get funky with me
Do you wanna get funky, the idle mind is a playground for the devil
The way she smiled at me, the lady smiled at me
Do you wanna get funky do you wanna get funky, that we might spend some time alone
But to meet the man with the ghetto voice, do you wanna
In the height of the disco dancing craze, one of my friends had some kind of dance routine and it was done to this track. I've never heard this since. Many thanks for bringing back good memories!!!
They don't make jam like this anymore. Everything now is a remake or a remix. This is the pure twenty-four karot old school funk I jammed to back in high school. This was back in the day when people of color got together to dance and sweat while having a good time and nobody brought a gun to set it off.
During the disco era, I wasn't much into the music because, in my view, all the music was starting to sound the same. Then THIS track dropped --- wow. What caught my ear is that it's a percussionist's dream. Disco groove with SERIOUS ATTITUDE...!
I was 16yrs. old in Hollywood gay club and this song came on and I swear it turned the whole scene into another lever. I never heard anything like it before and was so tribal and soulful you just couldn't help downing your drink and hitting the floor. lol.........
These old classics have so much soul and feeling in them, the live musicians, great singers and recording to tape, it's impossible to capture these feelings with digital nowadays.
