I am white. I am British and I am 66 years old.  I am reading stuff in these comments which I find embarrassing in the extreme. Ray was the greatest musician of the 20th C and possibly of all time.  I really don't care who 'covered' his songs and who thinks he was bettered by inferior musicians. He wasn't. I was priveleged to see him live in the UK in 1963 and 1996. Tell me one other musician who could absolutely dominate blues, soul, gospel, R&B, jazz, country etc., in the way he did. There is no one else. R.I.P. Ray.

Well I admit, baby, that I was wrong. Don't you know baby, child you've been gone too long. Come back baby, yeah yeah, Let's talk it over one more time. I said if I could holler like a mountain jack, I'd go up on the mountain, people, I'd call my baby back, oh. Come back baby, yeah yeah, Let's talk it over one more time. Now one of these days, baby, and it won't be long, yeah. You're going to look for me child, you know, and I'll be gone. So come back baby, yeah yeah, Let's talk it over one more time.

I find it hysterical that four individuals gave this a thumb down! Extra terrestrials? Klansmen? Muslims?

This song is 12 years ahead of its time. Like James Brown singlehandedly invented funk with Cold Sweat then this song singlehandedly invented the genre of soul, which would dominate the late sixties to the early eighties.
