Dressed in gold like the morning
Painted stars on her face
Every man that she has fawning
Knows his place
Hours or days do not enslave her
But her age we dare not ask
There are many who still crave her
From her past
Knows only one game
Winner take all
Holds every last flame
In thrall
Truth and honor dance around her
Waiting at her beck and call
But will she end up where we found her
After all?
Some gave all just to be near her
Some gave more for even less
Who’ll be the one that she has chosen
To be blessed?
To be blessed
A tribute to his "idol" as I put it, is not a copy but done intentionally as a tribute.
This man is still creating music today that sounds better than most of today's music...in other words, music with substance and feeling!
am i the only one who hears hendrix' rendition of "all along the watch tower" in this song? or am i just "daydreaming"? lol.
seriously though. if im wrong, "shame the devil"
The only thing this has in common with "All along the watchtower" is the chord progression. Robin's lead phrasing is distinct and unique and I doubt many of his 'critics' could ever come close
Anyone who started playing guitar after 1945, - has used licks & chord progressions of all those who , previously, & publically came forth. Then in 1966, electric rock, pop , & jazz , - - new sounds from amps & early effects , established new horizons in the dynamics of playing, which yielded in "new licks, phraes, & etc.. therein , unless the structure & Melody of a song is not working identical, to a previous recording, - don't knock anyone , & especially
Robin Trower.
Robin has the best solo / leads phrasings - vibrato , interval/outside notes , fucking awesome, Robin is in a league all of his own, his own sound, this man is unreal.
