Songs like these by Roy showcase just why someone like Hendrix was intimidated by his playing- flawless and clean, no crazy effects needed...

a big class above the rest .As an example, just listen to that little fill at 2.20. .........many imitators show that this fella was a true guitarists guitarist................you can still hear his influence in a load of todays cool players. shame he did'nt get too much recognition in his his own time,,,,,,,a bit like danny gatton's situation. RIP Roy, you were a star !

I met Roy for the first time in DC back in 1965...he opened with a small group and played the classic "20-75". I saw grown men and women stand up and scream...true story. I followed him around the DC area until I left for California. Too many stories to tell but what a unique musician...I have heard no other like him since then. In a live venue Roy could elicit reaction and emotion from his guitar as well as the audience.

Heard some Joe Bonamassa that made me think of RB. Mostly liked his "Lonesome Fugitive" in the past. So now I check out more RB. Sooooo sweeeeet ! Mmmmmm
