monate o tjhena banna,i last hear the song played by Motlatsi Mochochoko on Radio Sesotho(dimomonane tsa motsheare) years back.the voice of Tshepo Tshola , backing vocals and instruments, nkare nka lahleha ka ipha naha.(mphonyana msimango ratanda heidelberg)
Their songs drive me crazy, i wasnt there in their times but i really give them credit. Too much creativity, innovation and culture-related musi altogether. I always feel fine when i am listening to their music and i am still making collection for sankomota,Tshepo Tshola,Bhudaza, Hugh Masekela...these legends played extremely important role for Lesotho in the music industry around the world. Bigups to Sankomota as originated from Uhuru. I always read the articles about these legends, their stories are so spellbinding and touching in their struggle in the music industry. I can say to Lesotho and Basotho "We are watching dinosours die but we don't know what will fill their place." No support for anything in Lesotho.........thats what kills.
She welcomes me with her smile...
She says "How are you baby, you've been gone so very long....
So very long....
Take off those shoes and rest your feet.....
This is your Home, you've been gone oh so very long,...so very long
***Beautifully composed African homecoming song
The year was 1990 during the Sekunjalo Music Tour headed by the legendary Hugh Masikela at FNB stadium. The line up was made up of Mzwakhe Mbuli, Julian Bahula, Yvonne Chakachaka, Brenda Fassie, David Serame, Chicco Twala, Letta Mbulu, Caiphus Semenya....and many more. Sankomota came to the stage at about 7:30pm wearing their Basotho blankets, Tshepo Tshola was the last member to appear on stage, Whooow!! the fans went wild , bra Frank Leepa with his lead guitar strummed it to his best level. Memorable days!!!
