There are a lot of songs out there trying to tell a story, but focus so much on that that the song itself becomes pretty bogus. There are also a lot of songs I love to listen to, but not telling very much. This is a song that succeeds in telling a story and keeping it musically attractive. And that's a very rare achievement.
