Damn Stanley! Don't be so bad!!!!!! Had me crying, taking me back to when Black Pride was still so strong and vibrant. Right after this was released, he came back home (Philly) and I had to see how this brother was handling that bass, I left the concert and started checking out his earlier tunes.
Stanley Clarke - electric bass, humming, acoustic piano
Raymond Gomez - electric guitar
David Sancious - organ, Mini-Moog synthesizer
Gerry Brown - drums
Milton Holland - percussion
This is a fantastic work of musical art! It reminds me a bit of Ravel's Bolero, with the repetition of the same riffs over and over again while adding additional instruments as it proceeds, but brought into a very modern groove as well! just one humble opinion.
If I'm understanding your post, this song is called the "Dancer" it's a Brazilian inspired piece. I've been listening to it since 1976 when I purchased the ablum...lol. You were right at first.
