I had an argument on air with a Virgin Radio DJ over this song...I got through to the request line and asked for this song...he insisted there was no such song and played The Joker instead...I even told him which album it was on...still didn't believe me :( So I called him a hack and wrote a letter of complaint asking that they employ people who actually know a little about music as DJ's. Got an apology as well :)

I'm so disappointed that this wasn't featured in Guardians of the Galaxy.

John Palmer and I used to cruise all night in 69! A 64impalaSS and this steve miller tune was alway playing! We bought $2 of gas/8 gallons! Some "weed" and downtown portland!

i liked him better before he became mainstream.  It bugs me when you search for this song and the joker turns ups.

A true "lost classic." Rock doesn't get much cooler than this.

Perhaps someone else has mentioned this over the course. Steve lifted the riff from Lady Madonna as the basis for the main driving riff on this tune. He and McCartney crossed paths back around the time Brave New World was recorded. Paul sat in and played on My Dark Hour (in which Miller and McCartney were the only musicians) which is on that album. Always liked this tune - and BNW in general - and worked it up in a band I was in at the time.

My favorite Miller song.  He really had to pay his dues as it would be 4 more years before he finally broke into mainstream.  The rest is history.

Ok I too must say it: "Guardians of the Galaxy" needs this tune. Parts 1,2 didn't get it so...Part 3 please! Someone on facebook tell Gunn for us.

This song seriously needs to be in Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

I was a very young hippie wannabe when this was big on "underground" radio. Hearing it splats me right back to that time better than any drug.
