I found out about SRV when we lived in San Antonio, an album before he broke big with TEXAS FLOOD. He was a regional legand; I think that was the year he was first featured on AUSTIN CITY LIMITS. Superb stuff.

With all due respect to the greatest writing duo in history, it was actually written by GEORGE HARRISON. This not the first time it happened to George. Frank Sinatra called "Something" the greatest love song ever written, but credited it to Lennon/McCartney as well.

Agreed! I don't like to compare covers to the original artist because, art is supposed to be expressive and creative (IMO). I don't want to see exact copies of a great piece of art, I want to see what else can be done with that piece. In that light, I want to hear what SRV had to say about the Taxman. I love his rendition. Of course, I love George Harrison and the Beatles original work. Hey, just saying.
