Such biting words in this story of pain. Too bad we still struggle with these issues decades later.

I'm convinced this man was born to be a musical genius.

Considering the work he was still yet to create, the fact he made this...at 22 and 23 years old and it endures not just as his most important song, but one of THE SEMINAL SONGS of the 20th century is remarkable. Thank God we didn't lose him just days after this album was released to that car accident. Because for my money, he's the G.O.A.T. No singer has ever combined songwriting, composition, instrumentals, and blended them in to work that was unassailable commercially AND critically like Stevie Wonder did from 1970-1985. Not Elvis, not Ray Charles, not Prince, not Michael Jackson, not Lennon or McCartney, no one. No one had the consistent run of GREATNESS in all the endeavors of the musical business as long as peak Stevie did. Give him his flowers NOW while he's still here. Happy 70th birthday to an enduring master of music.

I had this album when it first came out. This song is still a punch in the gut every time I hear it. As I'm listening I'm crying tears of frustration. Back in '66 my uncle was found dead in a jail cell. Inmates in the area said he was beaten by the cops but of course they denied it and said he committed suicide. LAPD getting away with murder for years

Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and Curtis Mayfield...prophets of this current age just as they were poet narrators of the last. Pure geniuses.

Stevie Wonder – lead vocal, background vocals, Fender Rhodes, drums, Moog bass, T.O.N.T.O. synthesizer, handclaps...His level of talent is not measurable. There is a touch of the divine here so lacking in our music today.
