it was after the time of depeche mode's Violator cd that I finally gave up on chart music - but the mid 70's/80's was an amazing time for music - I remember the first time I saw the video of Smalltown Boy & the song & Jimmy's voice -
Age of Consent was such a landmark album - released in 84 during Thatcher's extreme HOMOPHOBIC hate campaign - Clause 28 was just round the corner - but you know homophobia in youth culture was never as bad in the 70's/80's as it is today -
