OH YEAH !
The Outlaws totally rocked back in the day...still do.
When I hear their music, I'm back in my 1972 Firebird Formula in HS. Best of times 1977-1978
Naturally they left out the best part..
As the riders loped on by him he heard one call his name
If you want to save your soul from hell a-riding on our range
Then cowboy change your ways today or with us you will ride
Trying to catch the devil's herd, across these endless skies
RIP Dad, thank for introducing me to some awsome music, you had passed on ahead of your time and i wish you could have seen/met your grandson ,God Bless
My wife hates this song, so I play it as loud as possible without making my ears bleed, she's from the south too. I'm from Oregon, I live in the south now, Texas to be exact.
Hughie Thomasson, one of the lead guitar players for the Outlaws is in the Fender Guitar Hall of Fame. I saw them many times live. They were unbelievable and Hughie could rip it up!!
my mom just taught me this on the acoustic guitar this weekend.. she said hearing me play this was the best mother's day present she could ever have. she's been playing for 48 years.. ill been playing for 48 hours. Absolutely love and understand this song now!!
