If you really love him
And theres nothing I can do
Don’t try to spare my feelings
Just tell me that were through
And make it easy on yourself
Make it easy on yourself
'Cause breaking up is so very hard to do
And if the way I hold you
Cant compare to his caress
No words of consolation
Will make me miss you less
My darling, if this is goodbye
I just know I’m going to cry
So run to him before you start crying too
And make it easy on yourself
Make it easy on yourself
cause breaking up is so very hard to do
Oh, baby, it’s so hard to do
Great Song back then, Great Song Today ! Music had depth and soul to it unlike the most of the Souless Shit out today ! Nothing like listening to this in a 64 Pontiac with the " Reverb " speaker in the back. Anybody remember those ?
Scott Walker had an incredible voice--right up there with Jay Black, Gary Puckett, Bill Medley...don't have singers like that today. Thanks for posting this.
"The sun aint gonna shine anymore" and " make it easy on yourself" must be two of the greatest popular music songs of the 20th century...all you guys under 40 who arent familiar with great pop music check out the sixties...the greatest pop music ever made...look at the charts from 1966 alone...it would blow your mind...NOTHING comes close to those times...even the late seventies of punk funk and rock (which were amazing too)....BUT nothing comes close to the mid sixties...the Beatles Stones Dylan Motown..the Four Tops Supremes...WOW...the greatest music EVER...............................
I once loved a girl but she wanted out as there was someone else. I was devastated when we split. The composer of this song has obviously been there, it could not be any other way. Sad experiences often inspire beautiful songs.
Although I'm old, I'm really grateful to have been able to live in the 60's and 70's, to have experienced what some younger people can only imagine. All of it wasn't perfect, but man, what a time.
