There was a Twilight Zone episode, "Static," where this song literally took a guy back in time, because it reminded him of a simpler time when he and his wife were happy.

When I was young, 45 years ago, and still playing trombone, I tried for months to play this. The notes are easy, of course. But getting this soft tone and the intricate dynamics with the tasteful vibrato just proved too difficult. Tommy built up a little universe of its own with his two short solos here.

I live in the twilight zone.

I am instructing my offspring to have this very recording played at my funeral. Tommy Dorsey's rendition has haunted me for over 65 years, having first heard it when I was just fifteen... once heard, never forgotten.

These artists played overseas with the USO for our fighting men during WW11.They should always be remembered for bringing a little bit home to our fighting boys.

Music years past was romantic, lovely to dance to. Slow dancing with someone you love and who loves you is joy beyond belief. May this beautiful music live forever to inspire more generations.

I was born in ‘46 and have a special love for these old tunes. Music soothes the savage breast. Even a bad day is made better listening to these wonderful songs.

It's my father's birthday, Robert Eugene Doyle. He was born in 1919 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and died in 1991 in New Castle, Pennsylvania. This was his favorite song.

It doesn't matter whether or not music is old or new, If it's good music it lives on forever.

It's been many years ago now, but I remember when a friend and fellow bandsman at my high school band would play this song in the band room during lunch break, where as it happened many students congregated to practice, or talk or jam together a little while before class began. He played this song as tho he were playing it just for me. Sometimes I would look up and catch him looking at me while he played. I had a suspicion that he was indeed playing it just for me, but he never made the attempt to tell me for sure. It was a time when a girl waited for a boy to make an advance, I guess he was just too shy. But, I have never forgotten how special it made me feel. Now whenever I hear this song, I am reminded of times so many years ago. Just the thought of someone playing a beautiful song like that for a girl, is almost too much to wish for.

The Golden Age of music, I grew up listening to my parents playing these songs from pre & post war. Miss you Mom & Dad !
