You, you won’t talk about what we see when the lights are out
And I’m willing to hold your hand while you’re lost
While you’re so full of doubt
Walk for miles, on your own loose ends, I’ll find you there
I’ll find you there
You, you walk up thin blue lines possible with reality
And I, I see through small red eyes
Glowing still at your uncertainty
Out of darkness you will come around, I know you will
I know you will
And I’ll find you
And I’ll find you there
You, you won't talk about what we see when the lights are out
And I'm willing to hold your hand while you're lost
While you're so full of doubt
Walk for miles on your own loose ends
I'll find you there
I'll find you there
You, you walk up thin blue lines possible with reality
And I, I see through small red eyes
Glowing still at your uncertainty
Out of darkness you will come around
I know you will
I know you will
And I'll find you
And I'll find you there
It has been my favorite song for over a decade. I never get tired of hearing it. In 18 days I will watch it perform live for the 4th time (I hope). Therefore I don't care to have missed a concert of Joy Division, to broke up with my girlfriend 24h ago (now I have an extra ticket... anyone?), if the heater at home is not working and now I'm hungry. I'm a lucky guy and fuck it! I'm happy!
I discovered this song today. I listened to it like 20 times in a row. Then I went and see them live, and they didn't play it (I loved them anyway, OF COURSE). So I'm back home, listening to it some 10 more times
The mark of a great band is when they're better live. I had the pleasure of witnessing Yo La Tengo close their show with this in London a few nights ago. Epic. Late 50s- early60 year olds rocking out harder than anyone I've seen in recent years.
