This was "morning music" when I was stationed in Norfolk in the mid-70's. I think we wore out 3 copies of the album. Blankets for curtains on the windows, boards on the cinder blocks for shelves, and a $9000 stereo we picked up for peanuts in Japan a few years prior. Good times.

Probably my all-time favorite Doobie Bros song! Brings back such great memories. Supposedly the cover picture for this album was taken on a side road off I-5 a little bit north of Los Angeles. The side road was part of an overpass that was being built when the Sylmar quake hit in 1971 and I don't know if it ever got finished or not or became part of another project.

I failed to mention another key member of this fantastic line up. Tiran Porter, their bass player. He was the heart and soul of this group.
They would not have got this far without him.
He was the anchor of this band (along with the 3 front line guitarist's). All the front line component's were needed to make this group what it was.

Maybe time travel is possible! I just returned to 1973 and being 16 years old, listening to Doobies in our VW van at the beach in San Diego. These guys were my favorite band for years as a teen. Hard to believe it was 43 years ago...Still sounds great

I was just out mowing the lawn and thought of this and NEEDED to hear it for just an energy to finish. Always loved the Doobie Brothers. Saw them at Cynthia Woods Pavilion in the Houston area a couple of years ago. Loved seeing Pat Simmons and of course Johnston and McFee. They didn't disappoint. Would have been a really great surprise to see Jeff Baxter with them, but oh well.
