This has to be one of the top five best written and performed songs of the entire '80s decade.

A standout song on a tremendous debut album, Lexicon Of Love was produced by the legendary Trevor Horn and featured Anne Dudley's (Art Of Noise) unforgettable string arrangements. Thirty odd years after its initial release, I still play this brilliant album on my Ipod, and of course it sounds as good as it did way back in 1982 when I bought the vinyl original. Good times, great album , fondly remembered.

I hear this and I get such a poignant burst of nostalgia...makes me cry. The soaring strings and beautiful melody....just takes me back to when I was aged 20... life was a mix of dressing to the ' new romantic' nines for all day discos, with no worries in my world and the promise of a fantastic adventure still ahead of me....never had a broken heart or gave one, still had all my loved ones round me and I was the happiest I have ever been in my life. Wish I could go back and live every precious moment of those years again. We who were having the time of our young lives in the eighties were surely the luckiest of all.

Martin Fry is one of the greatest "pretending actors" who actually did it right in their videos. The other is Bryan Ferry. Besides their acting skills, two of the most underrated lyricists of pop music. Awesome piece, marvellous style.

Beautiful song. It is now a classic... destroyed love, missed chances, bitterness, a love gone.....

I was there the day they filmed this video in Camden Town, London in August 1982, waiting for the train from Broad Street to pass over the bridge. It took ages.

More than 35 years later this song still rips my guts out: "Well I hope and I pray / That maybe some day / You'll walk in the room with my heart."
