I was very fortunate to sing and perform in this genre of music-my very favorite is this song by Dexter Gordon-it turns your heart around-the sensitivity of his feel and touch is almost alarming-God how I love his man and his art. Thanks,Dexter for making me feel the music along with you.

funny story,.. my dad would dutifully send all four of his kids off to church on Sundays.... really made sure all four of us were ready to go ( no one coming back 5 minutes later up those long 30- 40 steps ) He knew, by the time we hit the sidewalk, we were on our way... And I knew, when i heard that needle hit that LP, and heard Dexter hit the first phrase of "You've Changed" dad was in church. Yeah, Mr. Seibert: We hear God, sometimes in the most unexpected places

are there echoes of "What's New?" in this interpretation?

I haven't heard this since Billie Holiday teamed with Billy May and strings years ago.  You do the math.  I might say I prefer Holiday's earlier format with smaller ensembles.  But I like any way I can get her.

"A thing of beauty is a joy forever.' - John Keats. I hear the deep jazz roots of "Pres" within this voyage to heaven.
