See his face, his deeds through ages past tell of his part
i don t care for heaven
now i see his face
I see his smile, to be reborn
To be reborn, i don t care for heaven Prince, such a lonely place
of his black heart
I want for glory s hour, see his smile
I wish for earthly riches, don t want no crown of thorns, i was born a fool
i see his smile
See his smile, devil take my soul Head, no golden mile
Of his black heart, from the day i die Head, see his smile
don t want to stay that way
from the day i die
now i see his face
see his face
Eyes tell of morbid tales, no golden mile
See his face, see his smile Diamond, now i see his face
see his smile
So don t you look for me to cry, eyes tell of morbid tales
See his smile, see his face, angel from below
Don t want to stay that way, such a lonely place Diamond, devil take my soul
I wish for earthly riches, change my dreams
Now I see his face, I've seen him smile
Such in a lonely place, no golden mile
His eyes tell morbid tales, of his black heart
His deeds through ages past, tell of his part
See his face, see his smile
Time to die
An angel from below, change my dreams
I want for glory's hour, for wealth's esteem
I wish to sell my soul, to be reborn
I wish for earthly riches, don't want no crown of thorns
See his face, see his smile
Time to die
I was born a fool, don't want to stay that way
Devil take my soul, with diamonds you repay
I don't care for heaven, don't you look for me to cry
And I will burn in Hell, from the day I die
See his face, see his smile
Time to die
As i was 17y old still in search of me, i went to a christianpentacoste 3day festival. A program filled with christian music en seminars to bring the youth closer to the lord. On the second day i went to a seminar involving modern day music and the influences of satan.
The seminar was led by a dude who lived trough the 90's rave era and used so much drugs that he finaly found the lord.
He made us aware that satan works trough music and one of his main examples was Metallica - the Prince. I was so shocked that when i got home i went searching for that song and found out about the Diamond Head version.
Need to say i found me and i became a huge metalfan and i've bin listening to this song for over 14 years now. Never set foot in a church again but thats probably al part of the devine plan!
I am so thankful to Metallica for making me aware of Diamond Head. If they hadn't I might have gone my whole life without knowing what a phenomal guitarist Brian Tatler is. His riffs are good but he can solo as well as anyone I've ever heard.
