Thanks met dion I was 12 his grandmother lived on Waterbury Ave in the Bronx, he looked like he does in those pictures he had a sky blue thunderbird with port holes sitting outside what an experience You brought that memory back again thanks guys
I'm 71, and being that age I was around for this whole do-wop era and love it as much as anybody. I also love and respect
Dion's music as he is walking, talking and breathing Rock and Roll history BUT, those saying that this is better than the original couldn't be more wrong! The original is in mine and many other's opinion probably the greatest Do-Wop of all time! Fred Paris wrote it and the Satins made it what it was. As I said, no offense to Dion as he was right in the middle of a great era and contributed as much as anybody! You want to hear the best do-wop that he and the Belmonts ever did, try 'That's my Desire', and 'I Wonder Why'. Do-wop at it's best!!
My life will not be complete until I slow dance with some beautiful, kind, loving, incredible girl to this song.
Guess my life will never be complete. :/
The skill of his singing voice is unchallenged.
EDIT: I just listened to the original version, it's lovely but quite bad quality sound - so I went for this one because it's much clearer and his voice is much smoother.
In the still of the night
I held you
Held you tight
'Cause I love
Love you so
Promise I'll never
Let you go
In the still of the night
I remember
That night in May
The stars were bright above
I'll hope and I'll pray
To keep
Your precious love
Well before the light
Hold me again
With all of your might
In…
One of my favorite songs... Great vocals, and by one of favorite artists. Even though I still listen to music from this day of age, nothing compares to this kind of music.. Dion was just great
