This is the better version then the Eagles take on it, in my opinion, Jackson did great job here, vocals, guitar work, just great song of Jackson Browne.
I'm a long time fan of Jackson B..just found out that he was part co-wrtier w/ Glenn Frey, so I had to hear the JB version of Take It Easy. HIs music brings me back-hey, 40 years ago. Great music always, in those days...J.
You can go to Winslow today
Drive downtown all the way
And there on the Square
Good Lord
You can get your picture made
With the Girl in a flatbed Ford!
Just listened to this and then The Eagles version and there's only one winner, and it ain't this. Credit to Jackson for writing virtually all of it though.
Arguably his best album.....and yes Sneaky Pete on pedal just resonates in your head when you just think of this track...
Have seen him many time and never been disappointed.
Saw him on his last tour at The Sage in Gateshead and he finished the show with Take it Easy....then gently morphing into Lady of the Well.
It was so note and sound perfect that it was just as though you were listening to the album itself.....!

Sneaky Pete (pedal steel) was a member of the original Flying Burrito Bros. along with Gram Parson and Bernie Leadon (later of the Eagles), playing that "Cosmic American Music" which was a mixture of American country-western, folk, blues, soul, R 'n B, and rock & roll. I love this version of Take It Easy. Two great tracks by both the writers, Browne & Glen Frey (Eagles).
Well I'm a-running down the road trying to loosen my load
I've got seven women on my mind
Four that want to own me, two that want to stone me
One says she's a friend of mine
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand and take it easy
Well I'm a-standin' on the corner in Winslow, Arizona
With such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed Ford
Slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on baby, don't say maybe
I've got to know if your sweet love is gonna save me
We may lose and we may win
But we will never be here again
Open up I'm climbin' in to take it easy
Well I'm a-running down the road trying to loosen my load
Got a world of trouble on my mind
Lookin' for a lover who won't blow my cover
She's just a little hard to find
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy
Come on baby, don't say maybe
I've got to know if your sweet love is gonna save me
You know we got it easy
We oughta take it easy
