I was turned on the junior brown when I first heard is fresh album that I was like so happy and I was like oh my God look at this guy is a country guy oh my goodness
Saw Junior in NYC at a rare outdoor concert. I was in the first row. I'm a guitar player and I went there with a guitar player buddy. We were quite impressed and it was a fun concert. He has good sense of humor and he is a remarkable talent. Not sure if I would compare him to Hendrix though. Hendrix is probably in the top 3 guitarist ever lived. But I would maybe put Junior in the top 30 guitarist ever lived.
I first heard Junior at a music store in Charleston , SC....in 2004Not taking ANYTHING away from Jimi...but I'd show people the cover of the CD I'd found, AFTER I let them listen to "Foxy Lady"....to a man, NONE thought it was anyone but Jimi. String tie in funeral looking suit and cowboy hat really got 'em.
Great version of this song by a genius guitar player. Although not my favorite style, but Junior can jam. Believe that shit. This is just plain awesome. Rock on Junior....Collard Greens.
Because he's not pop/bubble gum. Quite frankly, I would prefer someone like him to not be on radio or TV where he would be ruined. Performers like this are best kept for those who appreciate this kind of stuff and don't go for the commercial stamped out candy.
Now Jimi Hendrix is my favorite artist. I listen to country, rock, metal, a very small amount of rap. Junior Brown does a pretty good Foxy Lady. This is my first time hearing it and I dig it. I was working at a customers house yesterday and I had the privilege to listen to a Junior Brown cd. His music takes me back to being a kid at my dads house. I like it a lot!
This guy's pretty talented. I prefer when he mixes it up with the lap steel.
... and would you all give up this crap about who's the best? Christ, it's not a sport.
