I live in Arkansas, grew up in a Small Town and I love it here and never would want to live any where else.

I'm from Australia and I love the southern culture. Sometimes I feel like I was a southern man in a past life. God bless the USA and the great south.

I cry when I hear this song. My granddad was a tobacco famer and  lived outside Knoxville Tennessee. He was in the Marine Corps when he was a younger man and I think of him every time I hear this song

For those folks that do not know what the phrase "Walking in high cotton" means it means the taller the cotton the less you had to bend over to pick it so the easier it was on your back

Dear current-day Country artists, this is how you write a song about growing up on a farm...if you actually did grow up on a farm.

I'm Irish and just discovered the band Alabama today. What a day it is. I love American country music and Irish so don't know how I have not come across them before but thank God I did today. God bless the South. I have always loved the Southern Americans. I'm off to Tennessee in two weeks and can not wait. Then off down to new Orleans for a few days.

This song is about how it was when I was a kid! Grew up in early 50's! I was poor, but didn't know it then! I had a roof over my head and pinto beans in my stomach, I was always happy! God Bless the USA!
