This track is so innovative. Manipulated tapes, strange modulations, piccolo trumpet obbligati and odd looped codas were not first done by The Beatles!

Matter of fact, they weren't done first by Andre Popp, either. They were a mainstay of "musique concrète," which originated in France. Pierre Schaeffer was doing tape music of this type back in the 1940's. Edgard Varese was another who used similar techniques. Andre Popp made it more accessible to the masses.

One of Popp's greatest compositions! Going right into my "Good Time Musics" playlist.

Brings to mind the old line from Laugh-In, "very interesting....but stupid." I kind of liked it but don't ever want to hear it again. Neat!
