Even though this LP has (beautiful) strings - and thus might have been made with an eye to record sales, make NO mistake this guy is one of the finest alto players that has ever lived.. and (like others) he did every note of it addicted to heroin unfortunately. Art hits notes where you least expect them to hit like no one else has done - what a breathtaking tone he was blessed with too....

I haphazardly bought this cassette tape without prior listening. Art Pepper, with this trio, has so much swing. I came to learn it was produced several years before his death.
