This was the most popular just prior to WWII. Still remember listening to it when it was first recorded. Yep, I'm old.

By 1968 when Shaw pulled this group together to record his famous "Artie Shaw Recreates his Famous 1938 Band" album for Capitol, audio recording technology had come so far from what it was in 1938. Treat yourself to some good headphones, slip them on and turn up the volume and make believe it is 1938 and your up by the bandstand. It's magic. Amazing stuff here. It's too bad that the last few notes are cut off. Ugh!

Big Band music always reminds me of the great sacrifice that our troops made during WWII.

Heard this so many times over my lifetime.  Still enjoy it more than ever.

I played this tune in highschool. This brings back great memories.

The sound of the clarinet is really amazing. I love the tune of "Begin The Beguine" whether it is a vocal version or an instrumental one.

My mom used to have this song on an old 78 and I used to listen to it a lot when I was growing up in the 1950's. I just love the Big Band music from the 30's and 40's! Debbie.

My late husband and I danced to all of these wonderful bands and I love all of them ,and they bring back so many lovely memories
