This song is evidence of Streisand's peerless vocal range. it's not about how many octaves you can sing it's about understanding what the lyrics mean and how to best dramatize them. It is a wonderful combination of her ethereal, almost prayer-like sound combined with her earthy belt. Many have tried to duplicate it--Celine among others--but they don't come close to the original. The real thing.
