Possibly the most endearing song ever written in my opinion. I think we can all see ourselves in those lyrics at some point, I am definitely right there right now. Thank god I discovered this band.

Why did you have to stumble upon a comment from when I was childish? >__> I've grown up a lot since then, and now I'm very musically talented compared to then (I was Grade 3 on Guitar now I'm grade 7) and I do recognise the similarites and how close the two songs are, but now my music sense has changed and I don't worship Coldplay as much as I used to and I listen to Barclay James Harvest a lot more. Sorry for letting you tumble upon that comment, I hope you'll understand.

Wow! I remembered this song when I was a young boy. It brings good memories. Beautiful song. BJH the best band ever.

Glad I found this today, just what I needed to hear, in light of recent events in my circle of friends and family.

Les Holroyd was at the top of his game in '75-'76 ... 'Song for you', 'Moongirl', 'Believe in me' ... but this gem , heavily influenced by the West Coast music he was listening to at the time, is the best song he ever wrote ...

Back in the 80's and you be at someone's place and you'd go through their record collection to see what kind of person they were - in the States, _everyone_ had "Breakfast In America" and in Germany, _everyone_ had "Octoberon".

That is one of the songs I discovered as (dutch-speaking) Belgian (together with Titles and Rock and Roll Star), when I frequently used to listen to the radio on Mid-Wave (!)in 1976 , to the Radio Caroline-ship in Atlantic Ocean. Sincethen, BJH is still number 1 here in my heart. Thank you, free2ouch PS....Laurent, moi aussi!!

I bought the album in 76. Was my first with BJH. I love the whole album and it has a special place in my heart. This track and Suicide are the most beautiful on the whole album.

Just heard the first line of this at the end of another clip and had to find it and listen.

I always thought this song is about realisation. It can relieve your pain and enable grieving. This is its mastery. It's like a vaccine which - if taken in the right time - can change the course of lives. More than this, it can restore you to a healthy state if you ever fall back... If you ever break in tears listening to this song, come back and listen to it again in a few days. You will feel different. Just listen and feel the healing. I believe music owes a lot to those wonderful, miracle-working guys known as Barclay James Harvest !

How can 'classic rock' stations play the same old songs day in day out, and NEVER play BJH? If only more people heard the genius of their first 10 albums, they'd be even more legendary... rather than only in Germany! What a FABULOUS song this is!!

Surely one of the most vastly underated bands of all time
