The „Flieder“ (= lilac) is the plant shown in the picture. Here in Germany it grows shortly before spring (which is actually quite soon) and therefore announces that the harsh deprivations of a long wintertime come to an end.
It has a very special fragrance: Sweet, innocent and voluminous but not too overwhelming, just simple and carefree like our fond childhood memories of being in nature at springtime.
When it rains (Rain=Regen), the fragrance‘s aquatic alteration intensifies our feelings of melancholic anticipation.
It‘s the same feeling we get with this song - „Fliederregen“.
