Saw a silhouette across a fluorescent
Floating overhead, undoing his helmet
Through the murky beams and blue-green sea life
I saw him spinnin' towards the moonlight
I pull him in, he wasn’t breathin'
His eyes were wide and I saw two of me there
There’s an ugly buzz that hovers just above the quiet
Found a way to make it silent
I’m comin' up for air
I’m comin' up for air
I’m comin' up for air
Air
Air
They hold my hand and ask me to pull through
A voice I know says
«Dear, he probably can’t hear you.»
Comin' up for air
Comin' up for air
I’m comin' up for air
Saw a silhouette across a fluorescent
Floating overhead, undoing his helmet
Through the murky beams and blue-green sea life
I saw him spinnin' towards the moonlight
I pull him in, he wasn't breathin'
His eyes were wide and I saw two of me there
There's an ugly buzz that hovers just above the quiet
Found a way to make it silent
I'm comin' up for air
I'm comin' up for air
I'm comin' up for air
Air
Air
They hold my hand and ask me to pull through
A voice I know says,
"Dear, he probably can't hear you..."
I'm comin' up for air
Comin' up for air
Comin' up for air
I was 9 when this soundtrack came out. The first CD i ever bought with my own money. I still have it. So many memories. Takes me to a great place in time.
Just adding another voice to the chorus of people who loved the Godzilla soundtrack back in the day. It's full of great songs, and this is one of my favorites.
This song brings a true memory to my head about my best friend, he was the director of our drama team, he started to have memeory loss until most of his memory was transparent, he started to seem different. Every thing changed to where he shut down the drama team-- the only way I felt I could let out my emotion and anger-- .. Now he is "lily".. He is trandgender at the age of 30, we are slowly drifting apart.. Thinking of the memory makes me sink deep into this ocean full of angst to where I'm coming up for air just to forget it..
When I was 9 (1999) I used to listen Godzilla soundtrack everyday, and in the next days my dad died and I remember when they told me, I was listening this and now, 20 years later, is still hard to do it..
Jamiroquai, The Wallflowers, Rage Against The Machine, Jimmy Page w/ Sean Combs, Silverchair, Green Day, Fuel, Foo Figters, Days of the New, Ben Folds Five. God damn that was an amazing soundtrack. I was 12 when it came out. Man that was a great time for music.
Ben Folds is a great composer - he can make you laugh about the saddest things, or rip your heart out of your chest over happy memories. While the album info is incorrect, Whatever and Ever Amen is a true classic.
