I Assume Danny Cedrone is on Session Playing, as I think Bill had The Saddlemen as Touring, and literally they did not have time to get in the studio - unless they were in a town with one, Danny I dont think Toured with Bill, as Danny was more associated regulary with the Esquire Boys. Note on this recording there are no drums, the percussion is from the slap bass.
Danny Cedrone gets all the kudos for his solo and, fair enough, its one of the greats; but Billy Williamson’s steel solo is fantastic too. He’s a real enigma as he turned up playing for the Saddlemen and after he left the Comets he apparently never played again.
I think they mixed the solo of Rock Around The Clock in Rock The Joint. When the solo of steel guitar is begining, they mixed. Pay attencion!

thanks for posting this - the guitar solo is the same as "rock around the clock" because Danny Cedrone was the ordinal guitar player for the Comets and the Saddlemen recorded both two years apart. The "Rock around the Clock solo" was recorded only two week before his tragic death.. Danny was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of fame for his contribution to Rock Guitar -
I cannot believe that I, a teenager in Great Britain could be so moved by this music, delivered by a middle-aged undersexed fat guy, but I was, it was not him, it was the sound, the energy that , Rudi, and his ilk generated, I loved it...
