I was only five years old when this song became a hit record and on the "hit parade" television station in 1954. - I remember my mother use to listen to this on the radio and hit parade all the time. I think Lawrence Welk also played it on his show. She played it once in a dinner counter juke box while she Took me along with my cousin to get an Ice Cream Soda. Never heard the words to it, just the most beautiful music and memories of childhood days growing up in Jamaica, Queens, N.Y.

There's a version of this by Wayne King recorded around 1945. This version was apparently patterned on that Wayne King recording.

Love to play along with this version. Reminds me of when times were less rushed and people really cared about what they did. NH

What I like of the music of this era is the serenity of it all.  Nothing crazy or hurried up, just calm and calm inducing.

Possibly the most beautiful melody I have ever listened to. And this orchestration is so incredibly beautiful. I could listen to it for hours.
