I’m gonna sit right down and write myself a letter
And make believe it came from you
I’m gonna write words, oh, so sweet
They’re gonna knock me off my feet
A lot of kisses on the bottom, I’ll be glad I’ve got 'em
And I’m gonna smile and say, I hope you’re feeling better
And close with love, the way you do
I’m gonna sit right down and write myself a letter
Baby, and make believe it came from you
And I’m gonna smile and say, I hope you’re feeling better
And close with love, the way you do
I’m gonna sit right down and write myself a letter
And make believe it came from you
Thanks ferrarial for uploading this. As a child, I used to lip sync to this song for visiting relatives. It reminds me of my childhood and all the fun times I had with family.
Someone asked me today "if I was feeling better", and this song came to mind after all these many years. I looked it up to remember the words as only the first few lines were clear. Innocent days and good memories and I could still remember at 9 yrs old. Haven't we really lost a lot now in these times? music changed in the 60's and has never been the same since.
There have been many Billy Williams from the early 20th century music hall star to boxers and cricketers one even married Betty Turpin in Corrie so the name could ring a bell from anywhere, this was his only entry in the UK charts :)
I was about 13 yrs old when I first heard this song...I was walking through the dinning room and heard this on the radio...it actually froze me in my tracts, I had to stop and listen all the way to the end of the song. Great tune and thanks for posting it.
Such a great song from the late and great Billy Williams right out of 50's still play this on my internet radio show Classic Soul me the Masterblaster.
