In this sentence of death
Dignity’s rotting away
Fouling yourself into shame
Step on the rails
Nightmare unfolding entails
Found in a heap your entrails
The deadly shadow marks your grave
You died in pain
Infested maggots eat your face
Unite in pain
Once more
Face the gore
Morbid death
I cannot find the peace of mind to pray
Morbid death
I’m paralyzed by peace in life and fail
Morbid through the days
MA vocals DID sound good, but that was before, that guy hasn't even got the motivation to do these vocals anymore, or even the desire to play this type of music, fair, no passion no point, he probably felt that way even on the fathomless mastery. As others have said, people complaining about these vocals don't know shit! They are good. However, I do believe they could have found a better vocalist. I hate to say it, but this is just purely corporate bullshit by making headlines with this selection through music media, not a logical band decision. I find it hard to believe that there is a lack of extremely awesome and contemporary death metal vocalists in the Swedish scene or even more underground that really could have brought something new to this music. Why not give someone else a chance?
The riffing and production of this song melts my face. Took me a couple listens to accustom my ears to Nick's sinister rasp. Although he doesn't seem to have the furious intensity and malice of Mikael's growls, his delivery is still very decrepit sounding and menacing in its own right. I like it! Those deep growls make me feel like I'm gazing into the jaws of hell.
Well, Unite in Pain, is the “Canape” song of the so craved coming back of Bloodbath with Nick Holmes doing the job of mr Akerfeldt who once was with No doubt the sickest growls ever since Adam and eve until today.. well, Nick sounds putrid as hell, but I feel him kinda weak, the music is good, the influences from 90s is there, but its impossible not to be compared with their previous works, that gave us some amazing, overwhelming, addictive dose of unique death metal, so let’s wait that the whole album leave the impression that we all waited for so long, you know, the sensation of the zombies resurrecting coming out from their graves to breed death…. Well, but in general terms, if we compare it with the generic mortals trying to create death metal, still sounds amazing. Hail Bloodbath.
The vocals aren't quite like the other albums by them, but I still like it. While less roar-y it's still got a good growl to it. The song writing is as good as all the other albums too, which is relieving. All their releases so far have been written extremely well and it looks like this one will be too!
