This song brings back memories of my best friend and college roommate from '89-'91 who turned me on to Husker Du and Bob (as well as a bunch of other great indie/alt-music). He even dragged me out to one of Bob's acoustic shows in upstate NY back in 1991. RIP David - I wish you were still here.

This song is one of the many "coming of Age" tunes that stuck with me
when i was working in a REALLY cool record shop in Canterbury in the
late 80s. Just because i used to work at this particular shop, i used to
get invited to great parties, band rehearsals, exclusive gigs etc. But
then in the evenings, i had to get back on that damn train & return
to my shitty town, where nothing ever happened, where my ex
schoolfriends all had kids by age 19 & where these massive Gypsy
families ruled the streets.
