I was born in 80s but really love this song. I remember my host family in Iowa always said to me: see you later alligator, after while crocodile but I had no idea what they were saying that time LOL
Bobby made more money writing this than singing it as Bill Haley covered it and together the two versions sold well over a million copies. With royalties from jukebox, radio plays and sheet music...Bobby Charles did very well. RIP dear soul!
