Thank you sir. Us "boomers" have this little musical "Pot 'o Gold" at the end of the rainbow that these kids who've eaten that musical that "junk food of music" called alternately "Rap" or "Hip-Hop" (which are just the genre's "hard" and "Pop" vehicles respectively for essentially the same spirit) will never hear, nor will they know what "Happy Days" boomer music inspired and what they've sadly missed. All today's so-called music inspires is hate and violence which is not really surprising when we read that Plato recommended government control of music due to his insight on the effect of different musical forms on the masses, with some forms, were they to become popular and the chosen musical diet of the masses of the culture in question, could literally cause that civilization to crumble! Boomer music made the "good times" of those days. We didn't create the music so much as the music created us, in context of course. No, I'm not saying "Music is God", but within my dysfunctional family structure, I grew up with music as my refuge and best friend. I mighta shot meself if all I had was Rap lol!

Bobby Vee passed away today (Oct 24). From his ancestors' Scandinavia, I send my condolences to his family and fans worldwide. Må du hvile i fred. Lepää rauhassa.

I think the sadness that is felt when we lose a musical artist of our era is also sadness of us feeling the loss of our youth. But just think of the rejoicing that is felt when we get there for eternity.

I believe the Bobby's should be in the RRHF: Vee, Vinton, Rydell,Darin.. I also feel that some of the great girl singers of the 60's (Leslie Gore, Connie Francis, Mary Wells, Petula Clark for ex.) should also be included. they  put out some great music for our generation.

I was born in 1953. I had a crush on Bobby Vee. (The rhyme is completely unintentional!)

I was 15 when this was released, i'd give anything to go back to this time,

When I was a little guy, I recall my aunt playing this song endlessly on the record player when she used to babysit me and my siblings.  It was catchy and I've never forgotten this tune as well as songs by  Bobby Rydell, Elvis,  Sam Cooke, Chubby Checker, The Dave Clark Five and Beatles.
