One of my all-time favorite songs, an absolute masterpiece. Lyrics aside, the the riffs and melodies fit perfectly with the song. Initially the song describes the formation of the universe and the music is very upbeat and seems to be building upon itself in intensity. A couple of stanzas in, the song begins to describe the universe forming and taking its place and the song seems to plateau a bit, coinciding perfectly with the universe placing itself as we know it. Then the song delves into the the collapse/destruction of the universe and the pace of the whole song picks up and almost gives off the feeling of the air collapsing in around you and spiraling within itself. Could listen to this song a hundred times and still be amazed how well everything fits together!

I've always said, if you don't get goosebumps at some point of this song, there is something wrong with you. If you do, you're human. I think this would have to be my favorite song ever and that's a big call. Would love to have it played at my funeral when/if I die =D

Wow. These are outstandingly interesting and elevating lyrics. I´d say it takes a lot of time and personal work to be able to write words of such wisdom, proving you can have a purely mountain/nature/wilderness type feel and talk about timeless spiritual and metaphysical wisdom that would actually be very close to taoist and astrological understanding. It would be amazing that there were more conscious and metaphysical lyrics like this in Black Metal. It´s been going on for long enough now to have grown up out of the only satanic anti christian bullshit that maybe served it´s purpose aiding this music to define it´s identity. But there´s so much room for psychological, social or philosophical insight that why not use it. After all, most black metal people I´ve met actually have an avid interest in these themes.
If anyone knows other interesting lyrics of this new kind in Black Metal I´d appreciate some names ! Hail Borknagar and this new wave !!
