I think you got your fools mixed up
You must think I'm somebody else
I'm not the same fool you know
That couldn't help himself
And followed you around like a dog
Strung on a chain
And wagged his cute little tail
Whenever you called his name
But baby, that will be no more
Remember when you walked out that door
I was on my knees, I said, "Now baby, please"
You just looked at me and said, "No score"
And then you said
It's no joke and maybe one day you'll be back again
But baby, I got lucky again
I made myself a million tens
And another thing I want to say
I found myself another friend, woo, hoo
I think you got your fools mixed up
You must think I'm somebody else
I think you got your fools mixed up
You must think I'm somebody else
I think you got your fools mixed up
You must think I'm somebody else
If you like this try "Catch You on The Rebound". This guy made a lot of great songs, unfortunately most were not played on the radio. For those of you under 25, a radio is a box with knobs on it . You turn it on and music comes out. Next week I'll explain what a telephone booth is.
I think it may be the cord progression that harmonises with the core of my spirit producing instant melancholy - literally on the point of welling up before tears flow. If the hook line fits in with ones heart felt sentiment then the song gets played over and over again. The syncing up with tune, words and sentiment happened the first time I heard the song way back when it was first released as a B-side to "Gimme a little sign" (my sister bought the record, I adopted it as mine; she's dead now) and hearing it again now brings all the "feelings" flooding back to the forefront of my mind - I can remember the scenario as if it was yesterday; but it was decades ago. That is the power of music, the power of words and the power of love.
I was asked why a 6ft tall blonde hair, blued guy like me enjoys this music. My only response was, " . . . for one, music has no "color", and two it's sad that music is considered anything but enjoyable. Who care who likes it." It's music just enjoy. I do love these classics. Lots of good smooth groovin'.
