I found a super clean copy of RCA Living Stereo LSP-2180 at a thrift shop. Buddy Morrow's band is swingin'. Who could recreate that sound today? This is the soundtrack for a drive in a '59 SquareBird to pick up your suit at the cleaners, then stop at the club to watch the fight on TV with the boys.
This is more TZ then you might think. Double Impact came out in 1959. This is Buddy's interpretation of the theme from the FIRST season which was very different from Marius Constant's more familiar theme that hadn't been heard until the second season. Most of the shows themes on this album were, in fact new (1959) series. Although Buddy Morrow certainly took liberties, anyone purchasing this LP new (in 1959) would easily recognize these tunes against their respective shows. His version of "Men Into Space" is a terrific opening to this album..
