I just heard the very sad news that Pete Shelley has died at age 63. Buzzcocks were my raison detre and an awful lot of fun when I was a pre teen, a teen an adult and beyond. Buzzcocks were the most melodic punk band ever, a long career full of great songs with smart intelligent great lyrics. When punk was all about nihilism and having no future they completely done the opposite and wrote songs about love and the importance of love without any preachy pretentiousness. Thanks for all the music and alleviating the Boredom it's in my heart to always love you more.

I saw these guys in wellington must have been around 2010.
Just a small pub gig.
Wasn't advertised beyond a chalkboard outside the door.
I was just there for a beer and they were rehearsing.
Took me a while to realise it was the real thing lol.
I thought it was a tribute band
