Lack-lustre vacuum magnetises the land,
scopeless material in ruthless demand,
concrete spectacle superficially grand,
divine animation buried in sand.
Chorus:
Well rise from the ashes of stagnation,
crystal warriors of damnation.
Nullified grafters manufactured from te womb,
out of the repro-clinic into household tomb.
Drag the nothing tiring through coal-dark underground,
drive the weels of iron round and round.
Repeat Chorus
Souring eyes scar through that book of lies,
and to the truth,
well our search is dignified.
Whilst the yawny drone of physical machinery
march in the robot mode to terminal destiny.
Microscopic observance,
forsaken innerland,
Oh well, hey, what've you got to say?
When I say we're going to ride
[Incomprehensible]
Lack-luster vacuum magnetizes the land
Scopeless material in ruthless demand
Concrete spectacle superficially grand
Divine animation buried in sand
We'll rise from the ashes of stagnation
Crystal warriors of damnation
Nullified grafters manufactured from the womb
From the repro-clinic into household tomb
Drag the nothing tiring through coal-dark underground
Drive the wheels of iron 'round and 'round
We'll rise from the ashes of stagnation
Crystal warriors of damnation
Scouring eyes sear through that book of lies
And to the truth, well, our search is dignified
Whilst the yawny drone of physical machinery
March in robot mode to terminal destiny, oh yeah
Ooh yeah, we're out
Ooh, have I got to say the second time?
Microscopic observance, forsaken innerland
Spiritual inertia, absorbed in bland
Well, our significance shan't sink in their charade, oh no
'Cause through their drab pantomime I say we're gonna ride, yeah, we'll ride
I say we'll rise through the [Incomprehensible] of stagnation
Crystal warriors of damnation, ooh yeah
A looong time ago I had this CD. I remember this song specifically from the album. I loved this friggen song. But for some reason, time passed and I forgot all about the band and much of the song. But every once in a while the song would come from the back of my mind and give me hints at how it sounded and how much I loved the song. Well, I finally did the research to remember the song and band. So glad I did.
I first saw this video and heard this song in 1993 on MTV's old Headbanger's Ball, ironically enough. This was some of the heaviest riffing I'd ever heard. The Ethereal Mirror was my first Cathedral album. This was ground zero of my introduction to doom, a genre which I still enjoy today. I played that album a lot, and it continues to inspire me.
0:31 "Black Mr. Vacuum gonna tidy the land, scour this material the louver's gettin' bad!" Always loved a good tune about cleanin' the house! Off to grab my black Hoover. Yep, I call him Mr. Vacuum too! Don't judge me!
