Is there sheet music available for this arrangement with orchestra? I have a copy of the solo arrangement, but I'm considering this piece for a competition at my school.
Wonderful, short piece. My parents had a recording of it back in the 1960s; loved it, along with the Warsaw Concerto. Thanks for posting it, and for posting a picture of the composer.
Curiously, the music on the screen here only corresponds to what is played in the earlier part. From 3:44, after the picture of Williams goes, the music is played in A major, while the piano score continues in F major. Presumably the transition passage covered by the picture was different, or not present at all, in the piano solo version. (Incidentally, Liberace's version is different again, and ends in G flat major!)
When I was 15 yrs old i sang with the Bordens Dairy Ladies Choir in Toronto in those days I was a Coloratura soprano and could reach very high notes The choir master Mr.Albert Green brought in two new pieces of music which I had never before heard but found very beautiful to sing and to listen to Dream of Olwen was one of them and Romany Life was the other Dream was always very peaceful and powerful and Romany Life was very exciting and lively although I went on to sing in many venues through the years these two pieces of music remain in my mind and my thoughts to this day and I was so pleased to be able to hear them again after all these years as I turn 85 next month You seldom hear such beautiful music these days and it is such a treat to the ears.
