All you had to do was tell me
That you found somebody new
All you had to do was tell me
But instead you were untrue
All you had to do was love me
Half as much as I love you
All you had to do was love me
But instead I was your fool
The lips I thought were only mine
Were kissing someone new
The love I thought was solely mine
Will prove to be unture
All you had to do was tell me
Though it would have made me sad
If you only would have told me
Then it wouldn’t hurt so bad
(Repeat & Fade)
Then it wouldn’t hurt so bad
I never paid much attention to Chris Montez and Kathy Young until I heard this song.I reminded me of this girl I was dating she got married.I talked to her a few days later, and I asked the same words "All you had to do was tell me"
You know, I pride myself for keeping up with contemporary art for the most part. I'm in my early sixties. And I dig contemporary artists like Carrie Underwood. She's awesome. It seems like just a few years ago I knew plenty of my contemporaries who were into the classic stuff that I still dig, but know it seems everyone has forgotten the way pop music was that I could relate to. Hip-hop, for example, is not my thing. I respect the industry, but it's mostly lost on me in terms of what "turns me on". Am I making any sense? Chris, you are so unique. You are one of a kind.
Great and a sensitive song.
I never expected Chris Montez to sing so beautifully. He owes this to Kathy Young. But ,,, my complications for both.
This a tender love song !!!
Oh God does this song take me back! Mixed with the good times and the bad. During the bad - I shed many a tear listening to this song. Bringing a tear to my eyes now...
Frances I loved you to this day I"ll never forget when you got married. I hadn't seen you in a while. I called you and your mom answered the phone, thats when she told me that you had gotten married this song reminds me of you so much " All you had to do was tell me" then it would't hurt so bad.
