And which was then, i can t hear a word they say Me, and i don t think i belong today
and my path has changed direction
but i get the message
empty places echoing past
i m thinking like i did when i was young
i m thinking like i did when i was young
give me what i cry for
And my path has changed direction, silent faces mouthing at me
i ve lost the meaning of simplicity
And my path has changed direction, empty places echoing past, the basic joys of life
i ve made the last connection
And my path has changed direction, i can t tell which is now, empty places echoing past
But i get the message, i can t tell which is now, all i have to do is close my eyes
silent faces mouthing at me
take me to the young years that i loved
i m thinking like i did when i was young
And my path has changed direction, the basic joys of life Give, take me to the young years that i loved
Take me to the young years that i loved, i ve made the last connection Me, i ve made the last connection
I m thinking like i did when i was young, i ve lost the meaning of simplicity
I can t tell which is now, give me what i cry for Give, take me to the young years that i loved
All i have to do is close my eyes, but i get the message
i m thinking like i did when i was young
the basic joys of life
all i have to do is close my eyes
No longer interest me, the basic joys of life, i m thinking like i did when i was young
all i have to do is close my eyes
And which was then, give me what i cry for What, and my path has changed direction
I ve made the last connection, i can t hear a word they say, give me what i cry for
I can t hear a word they say, i ve made the last connection
No longer interest me, can t stop to think
Silent faces mouthing at me, all i have to do is close my eyes
And which was then, and i don t think i belong today
But i get the message, i ve made the last connection
silent faces mouthing at me
Silent faces mouthing at me, what i would have gladly died for, can t stop to think
We all have at least one song that touches our soul, this is one that definitely touches mine. RIP Chris. You have a lot of fans in Europe and Japan, curiously you are largely unknown in Britain. I have been a fan since 1974 when I heard Solid State Brain on Capital Radio, and tuned in one evening to hear him interviewed by Sarah Kennedy. His stutter was very prominent but endearing in the way he laughed it off. I became a real fan and was frustrated at his lack of chart success, despite frequent radio plays on Capital, and Radio 1. I also would like this song played at my funeral, but not for a few years, please. Perhaps by then the world will have realised what a great talent has escaped the general UK public. (This post appears under my granddaughter's name, she hadn't logged off lol) Steve Ellis.
Fond memories of Chris's music being played on Capital Radio in the 70s. A very under-rated talent who really knew all about harmony and production. A sad loss, but a great legacy.
It is really sad for me as Chris passed away... We had such a wonderful time working together and traveling around Europe... He was amazing in the Studio and I still think of him everyday... I am sad for the family who I loved too... I loved playing guitar with Chris and listening to his brilliant music.... He is a Rainbow in the Skye and will always be missed... Seymour W. Duncan
Yes I understand - the 60's 70's 80's were a golden time for pop music of all descriptions.
Happy you liked it - it really knock me out when I heard it as a young kid back in 1974.
THIS IS MAGIC, LADDIE!!!
IT DOES REMIND ME OF WHAT MY PARENTS TOLD ME ABOUT GLESGA WAY BACK THEN!
THANK YOU FOR POSTING! :-)
btw: WE'RE THE PEOPLE. Not just a Gers slogan, it simply sums up what us Scots are. :-)
To all who visit this video some of you may already know Chris has passed away. It's terrible news as he was such a great talent who deserved more success. I will be making another video featuring his great music as a tribute. RIP Chris.
Beeg AL here formerly of REL Studios Edinburgh. So sorry to hear of Chris passing. He was such a fun & talented man. Worked with him whilst he was producing Runrig on The Cutter and the Clan, Heartland and their live album. Sad loss.
Really sad news to hear of the passing of the brilliant Chris Rainbow. He was a one off for sure. I bought all of those albums back in the seventies and still play them some 40 years later..R.I.P. Chris and a million thanks for wonderful voice and songs mate,
I'm so glad folks are getting to hear this incredible singer... we spent many days working on material and laughing... my jaws dropped while watching him at Polydor Records and was proud to be playing guitar with him... SWD
