Just glancing through the comments makes me realize I'm not alone in having listened to this one during some very hard times, in my case that being years-long deep, recurring suicidal depression. I tried my very best not to, but along the way I hurt everyone around me, my friends, my family, in some way. I've gained quite a bit of self-awareness through it all, so it's not self-aggrandizement when I say that I tried, and often succeeded, at being a very supportive, accepting, caring friend. To misquote someone who's name I can't remember right now, "I learned to give everything I needed." But at a certain point there was a catastrophic breakdown and I maimed everyone around me in some degree as they tried to handle the jagged shards of the person I once was. It's been a harsh, unforgiving ride, one I wouldn't wish anyone else would have to experience. I've lost a lot. Now, I'm trying to repair both myself and the injuries I've dealt to others. This song, to me, seems to encompass the bitterness and the fatigue of that darkness. But it's also warm, intimate, as if it's your future self, your stronger self, and the future people of your life, gently urging you, gently asking you to "get out of this little hell". So maybe there's still some hope. :) Peace y'all.

Holy man I love this song.. was a drug addict for 2 years ended up leaving my girlfriend for drugs.. we where dating for 5 years. this song just hits me deep i love it. I have been sober for almost two years now.. i hope everyone struggling gets help or decides to change their life around as I did.
