Coco Jones is still a teenager and she's in the process of gaining a complete understanding of "who" she is as an individual, in music artistry and in society. If she decides to continue in mainstream music industry. She will definitely face more criticism and changes as far style, lyrics, video shoot settings and more. Seeing she is under age 18 she can't legally make a lot of her own decisions. I couldn't help but to notice how Coco Jones was trying to be extra careful NOT to dance with to much passion because she'll be negatively labeled as MANY young black female artists who are Hip-Hop / Rap artists. This is just one of those industries you must be hands-on in to completely understand how it works. You can be very marketable solely based on style and looks, but lack talent or vice-verse. Some music artists possesses all of the main qualities the mainstream music industry desires yet a lot of them aren't signed due to them not having an open mind to be a bit more risky, daring, bold & reinvention of oneself OR due to some of those music artists flat out refusal to be conformed into a style they just aren't comfortable, in.
Coco is so awesome. I love all of her music. I just wish that she would do more stuff though. So far she's only been in a few episodes of Good Luck Charlie ,she stared in Let it Shine ,and has only done a few songs. She can do a lot better if she wanted.
Love Coco's voice, but for an R&B-Pop song I kind of expected more from her. I thought she was going to get inspired with the sound and the lyrics, not so much of her image. Which I agree it reminds you and I of Aaliyah. But HEY, she's pulling this look off and we can't get mad at it. In my opinion, not everyone can pull it off. So props go out to her. And in conclusion she has a soulful voice so she didn't wanna go out of her boundaries on what she's singing about in the song. So... Its hard being a teenaged performer, especially as a girl. Cause everyone is watching your every single move. And she has girls looking up to her, so I'm not surprised that this song isn't IT to all her older teenaged fans. But hey just wait it out she got the hits, she's just growing and giving her audience what they want.
