This is my favorite album to play when the season gets cold and dark

I can't believe this song is 27 years old. I could listen to it again and again like I did in 89. Genius

The base line from about 1:55 is so eerily empowering.

The way she sings at the beginning, in whispers, reminds me of the beautiful feeling of falling in love for the first time. Then the melody of the song changes and she begins to sing with a full voice "ladou ladou" as if it were a lament, evoking the feeling of suffering for love. In the end she returns to the initial whispered style but this time with that exquisite bass line underneath... the total effect is simply orgasmic

This happened almost a year ago when i just turned 19. On xmas eve i was alone so i climbed a small mountain overlooking the hudson river which was also the edge of a barren golf course and i sprawled my limbs on a large patch of shallow grass, all bundled up in winter gear, and i smoked and watched the sun set and then looked at the stars and that's when i heard this song. i had more shivers and goosebumps from the music than the freezing cold. Later when i went back to my car parked in a woodsy area and sat in it and listened to a bunch of their other songs on full volume. Frou frou foxes in midsummer fires probably gave me the most shivers. until i saw the headlights of some car at midnight, driving toward where i was parked and at that point i drove home and probably listened to them some more. I never knew music could be so beautiful!

Every Time I listen to this song, I can't just listen it more them one time. I play it constantly.

I heard this recently and thought it was a brand new song. You know it's good music when it ages so well. Timeless.
